#4 in the Psycho Ex Christmas Carol Series, manibeaux started this one and Mister-M provided some additional touches. This one is sung to the tune of Oh, Come All Ye Faithful. This version should probably be called Oh, Come All Ye Hateful.
Oh come all ye hateful,
Come and bring the children,
Trash-talk and scream at me
In front of the kids.
Say I’m a liar,
Cheater and a loser.
“Oh come let us abhor him,
Oh come let us abhor him,
Oh come let us abhor him,
He sucks as a dad!”
O Sing, Mother of the Year,
Sing about your greatness,
Sing all that in the neighborhood, your unholy words.
Take from their Father, children loved so deeply;
“Oh come let us abhor him,
Oh come let us abhor him,
Oh come let us abhor him,
He sucks as a dad!”
All Hail! PEW, run from thee,
Born this nasty morning,
O Father! for evermore be thy name abhored.
Word of the Mother, too often believing;
“Oh come let us abhor him,
Oh come let us abhor him,
Oh come let us abhor him,
He sucks as a dad!”
The more pristine and more lyrically correct holiday version as sung by Twisted Sister:
Christmas Carol #5 awaits… Here Comes Psycho’s Claws

On the mark with this one. Since many times there is NO humor when dealing with this whole situation, thank you for providing a lighter take, on what many of us deal with on a daily (or every other weekend) basis.
This site keeps reminding me that I am not alone in dealing with an individual who not only has mental illness but refuses to try to get help. Unfortunately she is in the business of giving help (yep, a counselor)… now isn’t that scary?

i’ve been reading for a while and, though i do not personally deal with this issue as my son’s father went MIA 8 months after he was born, i happen to know numerous people who do deal with this issue on a continuous basis. unbelievable.
in regard to your blog, i am hoping that you return to regular posts soon as, eventhough a few people do find these funny, i don’t seem to have an appreciation for them. since most of your posts are useful and helpful to others, where these aren’t, i find it more interesting to read real posts rather than song parodies.
in regard to your blog in general, thank you for sharing the situations you have experienced as well as what you have learned from them. I have referred a number of people to your site due to their similar dealings with the PEW/PEH.

Appreciate the feedback, Jessica. Between the holiday hustle and bustle, some positive things developing on the personal front, and occasionally just needing to take a pause from “the story” - I needed some “easy fun” work to take some pressure off.
I’ll be back to it shortly… hang in there.

It’s science. Laughter has namy health benefits. It takes inner strength to “choose” happiness and to find humor in potentially-painful situations. And laughing at the insanity helps to separate ourselves from it, and is a much more constructive avenue to the necessary physical release, rather than allowing anger to manifest as abuse (outward) or depression (inward). Quite frankly, it keeps some people from “going postal.”
