My ex-wife is completely money centered, like many mothers after a divorce. She continually tells the kids that they are always sick because I'm too cheap to pay for heat at my home, that they can't afford haircuts because I don't pay enough in child support (even though we split custody 50/50 and I STILL have to pay her support and of course she can afford to get her hair and nails done twice a month) and that, I don't love them because I don't buy everything on their Christmas list.
Aside from the fact that these things aren't true and she is destroying our relationship, she is making the kids believe that love is money. More specifically, the level of spending on goodies for the kids is what shows how much love a parent has for them. It makes me sick to my stomach.
