Kicking off a new category, today is a noteworthy date, perhaps one to celebrate.
Today, November 2, 2008, marks one full year since I last had to attend anything court related. No meetings with an attorney. No conferences with a “Special Master.” No petitions. No court hearings.
Even as I sit here and write this, I would never have thought it so much as a remote possibility. Granted, there have been several litigation threats, there has still be a good amount of chaos and terror.
But no court or court-related activities. For that, today I give thanks.

Ironic - after 1 1/2 years of no contact with the courts, we’re going back in - we just can’t deal with it anymore. All three of the visitations she has had since our move 1 1/2 years ago have been a nightmare, and our original order is so vague we really have no recourse. SS2 is 14 in March, and there is no way we are going to survive another 4 years (that’s 9 more visits) without a little structure.
What is really messed up is DH is the custodial parent! You typically think of a father having problems with a borderline ex-wife who has custody or 50/50. But no, even a non-residential borderline can make things so bad that court intervention is necessary. Unbelievable!
Enjoy your “NO COURT” Zone : ) You guys deserve it!
